Maintaining Faith In God As An Ex-JW

as i fade further from the jws, i'm finding it increasingly hard to maintain faith in god.

i've been exploring many alternatives from atheism, agnostic, apathetic, pagan, and satanism (not devil worship, but the promotion of self-indulgence) to name a few.

i'm thoroughly intrigued to learn how those of you who remained christian managed to maintain your faith in god and christ, especially after enduring all the lies that we've been told about them.

If a god exists who cares about you trust that that being will give you the faith you need. As a non god you arent expected to spontaneously generate faith . Get on with living and if a caring god takes an interest in you then your question will be answered. Dont sweat faith.

This has been my philosophy since leaving. I got to the point where I stopped looking for evidence to support my faith, and left it up to him/her. If God wants my faith, he/she need only to reveal themselves. I'm not wasting another minute of my life searching.

everybody adopts the shampoo position - elbows on knees, head in hands - and whoever is "moved by the spirit" speaks up for a while, followed by an awkward silence, followed by two people speaking up at the same time, followed by silence, and so on.. anyway back to the topic, here are a few random examples .... What percent of it was factual? Forrest Gump had real historical events, and people, in it. That doesn't make it a work of Non-fiction.

Furthermore nobody would dare to do it to any other holy book

Perhaps not, but that would be due to fear, not due to giving them any credence for their historical accuracy.

I wonder was the person who made the decision to label the Bible as fiction just uneducated or was it a deliberate act?

It would have to be an uneducated person to categorize a story about a talking snake, or a global flood as fiction. And what about Jonah and the whale? These events don't defy science or logic in the least.

if someone makes a valid point but does not spell well it colours my judgement.. .

Do You Often See JWs Out In The Ministry?

i used to always see them preaching.

now, it seems as though they rarely are around.

the only witnesses i see, every once in a while, are the hispanic ones..

I never see them in my neighborhood. I'm starting to see them more frequently at the laundromat I go to. They've interrupted me a couple of times when I've been reading my book. Who does that?

Atheists, what is the best argument FOR God?

there are no convincing arguments for god, but some are worse than others.

i thought it would be interesting to see what people consider the best (of the bad) arguments for god?.

in my oppinion it is the fine-tuning argument from cosmology.

The best argument is the Watchtower society. Only a wise, all-knowing god could establish such a pure and loving organization as his earthly representative.
